The Healing Place

The Healing Place provides compassionate psychiatric treatment and structured supportive care to clients oping with a variety of mental and behavioral health challenges.

The Healing Place is a 24-bed inpatient facility for individuals ages 18 and older and who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis.

Our services include

The Healing Place is a Medicare A Certified and Joint Commission accredited facility – meaning you or your loved one will receive the absolute best care in the least restrictive setting possible.

Psychiatry

Every person receives a psychiatric evaluation and physical within 48 hours of admission.

The psychiatric providers work together to stabilize the individual’s symptoms. The goal of psychiatry is to stabilize patient health so that their challenges can be managed at the outpatient level for ongoing support.

Case Management

Every patient is assigned a Social Service Worker upon admission.

This staff member is responsible for assisting the individual with discharge planning including coordinating continued outpatient care with community providers, coordinating with and supporting the individual’s family members and identified support system , assisting with referrals to the next level of care, and assisting the individual with a safe discharge.

Nursing

Our caring nursing staff is involved in total patient care from the start of the admission. 

Nurses assist individuals with medication administration and education, while our Health Service Techs assist patients in completing activities of daily living.

Therapeutic Activities Program:

The Healing Place provides a daily schedule of groups and activities facilitated by peer support, social service workers, nurses and health service technicians to assist individuals item increasing their awareness and understanding of how their mental health challenges affect their daily lives. The activity program includes therapy groups, education groups, social and recreational activities, exercise and movement groups. The groups assist the individual in learning new coping techniques, increasing treatment and medication compliance and decreasing impacts of negative symptoms.

Medication

A wide variety of medications are available including oral and injectable forms to assist individuals in achieving stabilization of functioning and enhancing their quality of life. Medication can be an essential component of the treatment process.

Visitation: What to Expect When Visiting a Loved One at The Healing Place

  1. All visitors and visiting times will need prior approval from the Clinical Treatment team.

  2. No visitors under the age of 18 will be permitted without prior approval by the Clinical Treatment Team. All visitors will be required to show ID.

  3. All visitors will be required to sign the visitation log.

  4. All visitors will be required to sign the Confidentiality Statement.

  5. Contraband is not allowed. A contraband search will be conducted on all visitors. Contraband includes weapons, keys, any electronic device that has audio/video/picture capability, purses, bags, backpacks, medications, any outside food or drink, staples, paperclips, and any other items deemed unsafe to the unit by staff. You will be asked to place such items in an available locker or return such items to your vehicle prior to your visit.

  6. All visitors are expected to conduct themselves in a civil manner. Any disruptions, yelling, or inappropriate behaviors will end the visitation immediately and may result in being prohibited from future visitations.

  7. Visitation can be cancelled without notice depending on the needs of the unit.

Family and support systems are an integral part of a client’s recovery.
